Top 10 famous dishes of Delhi 
If you ask a Delhiite are two things that really stand out for them on the city, it would be the rich history and appetizing food. Now I have to admit this blog put me in a tizzy. It is difficult to be born in a city that offers such a wealth and diversity of cuisines, add to this the fact that I'm Punjabi, and boy do we love to eat! So without further ado, I present my list of the top 10 famous dishes of Delhi.

1. Paranthas

To be the perfect start to a "healthy" morning in most households Delhi, a meal for hungry students and even a late night snack, paranthas are certainly at the top of the list when it comes to my favorite food in Delhi. Choose from a plain one or select a stuffing of your choice - potato, cauliflower, radishes, eggs, Keema, bananas or even left on dal last night - the options are galore.

If there is one thing that keeps the food scene tick Delhi is the Food Street. With a variety that is unmatched, eat in the streets of Delhi is a crash course in the history and culture of the place. Chandni Chowk is undoubtedly the capital of Delhi Street Food, and while no guide can really identify the best places to Chaat, there are some food haunts landmark that really stand out. Of course, if you are not willing to travel so far, do not worry because there are many options for street food in Delhi.

Here is an interesting story about the origin of one of the most satisfying dishes on this planet. She was born in the 1950s to Moti Mahal Restaurant, Daryaganj, a neighborhood along the walled city. Known for its Tandoori chicken, cooks he accidentally threw the sauce of butter, chicken and tomato juice with pieces of tandoori chicken; the rest is history. Today, this dish can be found in almost all non-vegetarian restaurant and highway dhabas and is eaten with rice or naan.

This dish poultry or based meat is prepared in a clay pot and the lid is sealed with dough for spices, flavors and aromas are soaked. The Biryani experiences in Delhi vary commercial chains and dhabas roadside, Sufi shrines and five star hotels.

7. Nihari

When you walk into Old Delhi and walk the winding streets, you can not help but be attracted by the aroma of one of the delights of the signature region, Nihari. This rich, spicy broth of slow cooked meat is served alongside roasted hot rotis or preferably khameeri tandoori. The dish was a favorite in the royal families, who used to feast in the morning.
